World Champ Jordan Burroughs Featured at Wrestling Camp
World Champion wrestler, Jordan Burroughs, will be appearing in a wrestling camp at Norwalk High School, courtesy of High Altitude Wrestling.
Burrough, a native of Sicklervville, NJ., has had a remarkable year, peaking as the only American to win a gold medal in men’s freestyle at the 2011 World Championships in Istanbul, Turkey. He is the first U.S. World Champion in men’s freestyle since Bill Zadick. He won the title by beating 2010 World Silver Medalist Sadegh Goudarzi of Iran in the finals.
Burroughs won his second NCAA National Title for Nebraska in March and, later, received the Hodge Trophy as Wrestler of the Year.
Adding to his credentials the year are a Midlands Championship, winning a title at the U.S. Open and winning the World Team Trials. He is also the first U.S. wrestler since Stephen Neal in 1999 to win NCAA and world titles in the same year.
