Winter Break Training Camps:

 

High Altitude Wrestling Club has been having Winter Break Training Camps since 2005! This winter will be our 20th year running Winter Break Training Camps.  These camps are a great way to work on fixing any errors, learning new technique, getting a jump start for the second half of the wrestling season and preparing for upcoming tournaments!  The beginners only camp will focus on body awareness, basic wrestling positions, and having fun!


2024 Winter Break Training Camp Dates:

  • Dec. 21st:  “CHAMP” Camp:  (this camp overs a complete series of wrestling – takedowns, top, and bottom)
    Session 1: 9:00am – Noon
    Session 2: 1:30-4:30 pm
  • Dec. 23rd:  Escapes & Reversals Training Camp:
    Session 1: 9:00am – Noon
    Session 2: 1:30-4:30 pm
  • Dec. 26th:  Takedown Training Camp:
    Session 1: 9:00am – Noon
    Session 2: 1:30-4:30 pm
  • Dec. 27th:  Tilts & Turns Training Camp:
    Session 1: 9:00am – Noon
    Session 2: 1:30-4:30 pm
  • Dec 28th:  Beginners Only Camp!
    9am-11am (only 1 session)
  • Dec 29th:  Leg Riding Camp
    9am-Noon (only 1 session)
  • Dec 30th:  Slidebys & Secondary Offense
    9:00am-Noon (only 1 session)
  • Dec 31st:  Girls Only!
    9am-Noon (only 1 session)
  • January 1st:  Intensive Camp  (designed for state qualifiers, state place winners and state champions – for 2nd-12th grade unless approved)
    9am-Noon (only 1 session)

Camp Info:

  • Location: HAWC Training Facility, 5548 NW 2nd St, Unit 105, Des Moines, IA 50313
  • Cost:  $50 per camp and $35 for Beginners Only Camp!
  • Register:  Pre-Register online or mail in form with payment!    (Checks payable to: High Altitude Wrestling)
  • Grades:  K-12th  (Limited to 50 wrestlers per camp!)

  • Outline:  Technique, drilling, LIVE (situations & wrestling)
  • Cancellation/Refund Policy:  All refunds for camps will be issued in the form of a camp credit towards future HAWC camps.  This camp credit is good for 1 year!  There are NO refunds or camp credit for wrestlers leaving camps early!
  • Parents:  We have a waiting room for those parents wanting to stick around or there are plenty of restaurants and businesses close by!  No one is allowed in the room during the camps!
